WHAT SKILLS SHOULD I LOOK FOR IN A BUSINESS ANALYST?

A strong business analyst is one who has superior oral and written communication skills, integrates seamlessly with your staff, and has the credibility to respectfully challenge your company's existing business processes based on industry and process knowledge gained through experience working with multiple clients and projects.

 
WHY DO YOU WORK EXCLUSIVELY IN THE VANCOUVER AREA?

A typical consultant travels on Sunday afternoon or Monday morning, works onsite for four days and then returns home late Thursday or Friday morning.  Consultants do this for up to 49 weeks per year.  After four years working for a Big Four firm with this exact schedule we discovered a few things firsthand:  

- A consultant's life is miserable when he or she travels every week for extended periods
- Five days of face to face time with clients onsite is significantly better than four
- On average most companies pay between $1500 - $2000 per week extra for a travelling consultant on top of the consultant's hourly rate.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOURLY RATES?

At a Big Four consulting practice one can expect a rate of $175+ for a senior consultant plus travel costs.  At Jeff Dixon Consulting Group Ltd. we are committed to providing quality services to our clients at a fair hourly rate with no additional travel costs.  Exact rates will vary based on services provided and are negotiated on a client and project basis.

 

CAN YOU RECOMMEND ANY OTHER INDEPENDENT CONSULTANTS?

We have worked on projects with both large consulting firms as well as independent consultants. We maintain a small network of independent consultants whom we would recommend for specific projects based on client specific requirements (e.g. IT development). We would be pleased to provide you with their contact information at your request.
